Conroe Dentist Practices Paying it Forward

Dr. Gardner has always held the military in high regard, but recently he's taken it to another level.

After seeing a segment on Action Trackchairs, which are the ultimate in off-road wheelchairs, Dr. Gardner and his team became inspired. Conroe Comprehensive Dental Center pledged that 10 percent of all production for the month of September would go toward the purchase of a Trackchair for a wounded veteran.

“I realized how life-changing this could be,” Gardner said. “The chair could really allow a disabled veteran to regain a lot of their freedoms.”

During his search for a veteran in need, Dr. Gardner spoke with Steve “Luker” Danyluk of The Independence fund. After hearing about the dental office’s donation, The Independence Fund joined efforts and committed to donating 12 more chairs to wounded veterans. Luker also suggested that we present the Trackchairs during The 7th Annual Independence Ride in Wallis, Texas on Saturday, November 2. Along the way two other individuals, Mike Bunney and Steven Wright, joined our efforts and donated a chair, giving us a grand total of 15 chairs.

To his amazement Dr. Gardner was also asked to speak at dinner prior to the ride on Friday, November 1. Being able to speak to his heroes was a dream come true.  The recipient of our donation is Montgomery County resident, Robert Englebrecht. Robert (right)joined the Army in 2003 as a cannon crewmember on a paladin tank. He was injured after only 8 months in Iraq by an I.E.D. As a result of the I.E.D. explosion, his left leg was amputated; he lost his right eye and only has 40% vision in the left eye. He took shrapnel throughout his body leaving his right arm with severe damage and extensive damage to discs in his back requiring him to be in a wheelchair 95% of the time. He also suffered a traumatic brain injury that has impacted his short term memory.

Dr. Gardner, his wife Dailene and children James and Sarah also participated in The Independence Ride. The family biked 12.5 miles and had the opportunity Conroe Comprehensive Dental Center's recipient Robet as well as others who have served our country.

In addition to the donation of a Trackchair, Gardner’s office is also hosting their 2nd Annual Dentistry for Veterans event on Saturday, November 16. During this event veterans will be treated at no charge. For more information please visit them online at www.drtimgardner.com or call 936-230-5445.

Dentistry for Veterans

Dr. Tim Gardner, armed with staff and volunteers, is out to change lives by offering free dentistry to the veterans of Montgomery County as he hosts the 2nd Annual Dentistry for Veterans event.

The event will treat those who have honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces. There will be no cost to those who show proof of military service. Procedures include, but are not limited to, cleanings, exams, extractions and simple fillings.

“I hold our military in very high regard,” Gardner said. “Without them we would not enjoy the freedoms we have today. This is just a small way to give back to a great cause.”

The event will take place Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the office of Timothy E. Gardner, D.D.S., at 2210 North Frazier, Suite 120 in Conroe. Prescreening is preferred and those who qualify are asked to call to make a reservation prior to the event. Walk-ins are welcome as well, but there is no guarantee of treatment.

Please contact Dr. Gardner’s office at 936-539-3636 with any questions or concerns or visit them online at www.drtimgardner.com.

For an Incredible Cause

The team at Conroe Comprehensive Dental Center feels very strongly about serving those who serve us and have made sacrifices for our country and freedoms. We have many service men and women in Montgomery County who have lost limb(s) or are paralyzed.

During the month of September, 10 percent of all treatment completed will go toward the purchase of Action Trackchairs for deserving, disabled veterans in our community.

The Action TrackChair bursts through the confines of a conventional wheelchair allowing the user to get outside and explore a variety of terrains and trek with ease through the woods, beach, mud, snow, etc. It also allows the individual to stand in the chair. The possibilities for these veterans are pretty fascinating. Please click the link below for more information.

"These chairs really allow the veteran to regain some of his/her freedom that he/she has fought so hard for us to have," Dr. Gardner said.

If you have been putting off dental treatment, now would be a great time to help contribute to someone who has served you.  Remember, we’re open Monday-Thursday 7 am -7 pm and Friday 7 am – 4 pm to better suit your busy schedule! Dr. Gardner and Dr. Burch are also willing to extend hours further as needed to accommodate everyone desiring to participate in this cause.

We look forward to seeing you in September to support this wonderful cause and help us change lives!

For more information on Dr. Gardner and how you can contribute visit us online at www.drtimgardner.com or call 936-539-3636.
