We're Serious about Back-To-School Season

We all know what August brings: hot days (and nights!), end-of-summer fun and back-to-school time!

We're serious about sending our students and teachers back to school with the brightest smiles and pearliest whites.
Just how are we going to do that?

For the month of August we're offering half off of sealants! That's right, simply call today, make your reservation and receive half of dental sealants! (Regularly $64 per sealant but from now until August 31 you'll pay only $32!)

Why dental sealants? Sealants are placed in the groves of teeth, where 80% of the decay starts, making it more difficult for cavities to form. They are less expensive than fillings and help protect teeth from future decay. Dr. Gardner believes sealants are the best thing you can do for the health of your children's teeth! So the real question is why not dental sealants?

Don't wait around - reservations are filling quickly!

Your Dentist has a Great Grill

Do you need a new grill in time for a Labor Day cookout?
Don't worry...we can help!

It always amazes us when patients ask if we're accepting new patients. The answer is ABSOLUTELY! What we've found is our best patients come from people like you. In an effort to reward you for future referrals, we have a Weber Spirit 3-Burner Gas Grill we'll be raffling off just in time for your Labor Day festivities.

Effective immediately: Refer family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. to  our office and receive entries into a drawing for an awesome grill.

The more you refer, the more you're rewarded. Here's how it works:

Refer one person and receive 1 entry.

Your second referral will earn you 2 entries into the drawing.

A third referral will earn 4 entries.

Referrals 4 and above will score 8 entries per referral.

The drawing will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 which gives you just enough time to buy burgers and hot dogs to throw on your new fire!

We hope to be giving YOU a Weber grill soon!

4th Annual Dentistry for Veterans

We love our Veterans...let us prove it to you!

Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center, armed with team members and volunteers, is out to change lives by offering free dentistry to the veterans of Montgomery County as they host the 4th Annual Dentistry for Veterans event.

The event will take place Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the office of Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center., at 951 Lone Star Parkway in Montgomery. Prescreening is preferred and those who qualify are asked to call to make a reservation prior to the event. Walk-ins are welcome as well, but there is no guarantee of treatment.

The event will treat those who have honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces. There will be no cost to those who show proof of military service. Procedures include, but are not limited to, cleanings, exams, extractions and simple fillings.

“I hold our military in very high regard,” Dr. Tim Gardner said. “Without them we would not enjoy the freedoms we have today. This is just a small way to give back to a great cause.”

In addition to providing dental services, Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center will be hosting a Veteran's Appreciation event following the dentistry portion of DFV. Live music, food, drinks and family fun will kick-off at 5 pm. Veterans, their families, volunteers and the community are invited to celebrate veterans and this great nation.

In 2014, Conroe Comprehensive Dental Center and volunteers served 27 Montgomery County veterans and donated more than $42,900 worth of free dentistry. They hope to grow the event this year.

Giving Forward with the Gift of a Smile

Sarah's Smile and Katie's Smile

Dr. Tim Gardner and Dr. Jacob Burch have been thinking of a way they could give back in a big way. And what could be better than a beautiful new smile?

This year will mark the 4th annual Sarah’s smile and Katie’s smile donation, which is named after the doctors’ daughters. Each doctor will choose one patient to do an extreme smile makeover on at no charge.

If you know someone who is deserving of this gift please e-mail us at smilenominations@gmail.com explaining why they would be a good recipient of this gift. Please include the nominators and nominees contact information.

The application deadline is June 30, 2015 and recipients will be contacted by July 15, 2015.

Inquiries and submissions will only be accepted via e-mail at smilenominations@gmail.com.

We've Got Your Back --- Guaran'teeth'ed

Did you know that we offer our patients a "waran-teeth" on their dental work? This means that as long as our patients maintain their necessary preventive care reservations, as recommended by their doctor and hygienist, we will replace any work completed in our office (fillings, crowns, etc.) at no charge for 5 years!

Our doctors stand behind their work and know that if proper care is taken, restorations should not fail. They believe this so much so that if something were to occur, as long as you've maintained your regularly scheduled reservations your work will be replaced at no charge for restorations up to 5 years old.

See the letter presented to our patients in-office below!

WARAN “TEETH”

Dear Valued Patient,

Congratulations on your new restoration(s)! You have helped protect your tooth/teeth from further breakdown and potential loss. With proper cleaning and maintenance, you should expect this restoration to last for many years. In fact, we are confident that you will not have any problems with the breakdown of your restoration for at least five years. Should you happen to; we will redo the restoration at no charge or apply the money you spent on that restoration toward another solution. The only thing you have to do is keep up with your hygienist’s recommended cleaning and fluoride schedule with our office, and take care of any other decay in that quadrant at the same time.
The actual restorations typically do not fail. The way these restorations could fail is by the tooth getting decay at or below the margin. This is usually from inadequate home care or doing “crazy little things at night.” “Crazy little things at night” refers to the fact that many people are eating or drinking right before they go to bed or even in bed. As you prepare yourself for bed, everything starts slowing down, including salivation. This means whatever you put in your mouth late at night will stay in your mouth longer, creating decay. Unfortunately, almost everything we eat or drink contains sugar. Most patients we’ve met over the years who have had a lot of decay, have reported drinking sodas, juice, milk, eating ice cream and cough drops in bed or just before going to bed. Hopefully you get the picture!
Home care should include brushing and flossing in the morning and more importantly, at night. This removes the plaque that harbors the bacteria responsible for decay and gum disease.

So here are the rules for a decay free and gum disease free life:
1.       After you are finished with your dinner, drink and dessert, stick with water.
2.       Before going to bed, brushing and flossing and cleaning the palate, cheeks and tongue will assure that everything is out of your mouth!

Again, although dental decay is a disease, it is preventable!

Yours truly,

Dr. Timothy E. Gardner, DDS

Dr. Seth A. Harris, DDS

Just see what a few of our patients have to say about their life-changing experience with dental implants:

"At the time in which I starting coming to Dr. Gardner's office, I was having constant trouble with my dentures. They were loose and causing constant issues. I was self-conscious; I would not go out to eat with others, watched what I ate, and knew what not to try.Dr. Gardner placed implants on the top and bottom and new dentures were made.
I have more confidence now; I smile a lot more. I look directly at someone when doing so. I had a tendency not to smile before as I was afraid someone would know I was wearing dentures. I laugh more, and I eat more of the foods I enjoy, not the ones that are just safe." -Cathy J.

Listen in as patient John S. talks candidly about his dental implant experience:

Don't wait to get the smile and comfort you've long desired.
Call today - 936-230-5448!

A Friendly Dose of "Mental Floss"

Here's a dose of "Mental Floss"

It's pretty common knowledge - and scientifically proven - that elephants have remarkable memory recall well into old age.

Something else unique to elephants: They have six sets of teeth in their lifetime!

Granted, elephants have to keep track of family, friends, foe, food and water holes!

But they don't have hair appointments, sales to catch, soccer practice or work deadlines. Sometimes it just feels like a jungle out there.

Relax. Let us help you out. If you haven't seen us in 6 months or longer, pick up the phone and schedule your appointment, while it's fresh on your mind!

Remember, unlike elephants, you only get one set of permanent teeth!
